This is a daytime group about writing, writing, writing. Finding time to write can be an issue, clearing an evening adds to the challenge. We'll write for 45 minutes and process the experience for 15 minutes. If this works well, we may add a critique or education component later. For now, this is just about sitting down and writing.
This is a place to share ideas and stories with other authors. It is open to writers of all experience and skill levels. We're looking for writers who want to help each other master the craft of writing and editing. Our emphasis is narrative (plot, pacing, character, description), which is most typically associated with prose writing (fiction and non-fiction)- but don't feel limited by labels. Some of the best poetry I've written has happened either in a class or group of like minded poetry lovers. My hope is that we will meet and study poetry forms during our meetups, write on our own then come together to workshop the poems we've written and study the next form. I would very much like to have a diverse group of people and encourage anyone who loves poetry and desires to write to join us.
