The Stratford Scribes is a group of Fairfield County writers serious about the creation and publication of their craft. The group meets in Stratford, Ct. and owes a philosophical debt to Roberto Calas for both the tone and format of the meetup. We are a group of writers committed to pushing each other to achieve the writing life (and audience) to which we aspire.

Writers mostly write. Besides writing, the second most important act is submitting. I'd like to meet once a month with a group of writers who are submitting their work.  During this meeting we can exchange ideas about motivation, where to submit certain kinds of work and the mechanics of submitting material. We can map out strategies for submitting work and make committments to the group about the process.  

Writing can be lonely existence. Sometimes, it's good to get out from behind the keyboard, see the sun and take a moment to talk to others who feel your pain, know your highs and lows and can offer support and guidance. Members gather to ask questions and give advice about every stage of the publishing process, from writing a manuscript to querying an agent to negotiating a contract. Hello, I decided to start this group because I am tired of the groups that are out their now.. This group is only for people that actually want to be involved in making movies, not learning how to make a movie, or writing workshops, etc- WE MAKE MOVIES.

The Long Island Screenwriters Association strives to provide support and resources to all members.
