We are a creative community center in the heart of Westport in a 19th century carriage house that looks like a little red schoolhouse. The Stratford Scribes is a group of Fairfield County writers serious about the creation and publication of their craft. The group meets in Stratford, Ct. and owes a philosophical debt to Roberto Calas for both the tone and format of the meetup. We are a group of writers committed to pushing each other to achieve the writing life (and audience) to which we aspire.

Writers mostly write. Besides writing, the second most important act is submitting. I'd like to meet once a month with a group of writers who are submitting their work.  During this meeting we can exchange ideas about motivation, where to submit certain kinds of work and the mechanics of submitting material. We can map out strategies for submitting work and make committments to the group about the process.
